The Art of Sitcom Acting with Jonathan Chase
Step into the world of sitcom acting with seasoned television and movie actor Jonathan Chase! This exclusive workshop, Acting in Sitcoms with Jonathan Chase, offers a unique opportunity for aspiring performers (ages 13 and up) to learn from one of Hollywood’s versatile talents.
Jonathan Chase, known for his breakout role as Cash in One on One and for his work in shows and movies like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Shameless, Bird Box, A Madea Christmas, and NCIS, will guide participants through the essentials of sitcom acting. With over 200 TV episodes and 20 films under his belt, Chase brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
In this hands-on, two-hour workshop, Chase will work with participants using scripts from popular shows on Nickelodeon, Disney, and Disney+. Through improvisation, acting exercises, and mindfulness techniques, participants will explore timing, expression, and character development in a fun, supportive environment.

JONATHAN CHASE moved to Los Angeles from his native Boca Raton, Florida to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor. Hard work and determination have transformed these dreams into a reality as he has appeared in over 200 episodes of TV and over 20 films.
Some of these films include BIRD BOX with Sandra Bullock, Trevante Rhodes, and John Malkovich, GAMER opposite Gerard Butler as Michael C. Hall’s henchman; the thriller EAGLE EYE with Shai Labeouf, the cult horror film GINGERDEAD MAN, the acclaimed romantic comedy DORFMAN IN LOVE with Elliott Gould and Sara Rue, and TYLER PERRY’S A MADEA CHRISTMAS.
Chase has guest starred on the likes of such dramas as QUANTUM LEAP, 911:LONESTAR, TAKE TWO, SHAMELESS, NCIS, NCIS:LA, BONES, THE MENTALIST, CSI, CSI:NY, THE DEFENDERS, LEVERAGE, and ELI STONE, as well as having appeared in NBC’s top-rated KNIGHTRIDER telelfilm. He has guest starred on some TV comedies such as BROOKYLN NINE-NINE, RAVEN’S HOME, MODERN FAMILY, 2 BROKE GIRLS, and VICTORIOUS.
Chase has recurred on Paramount Network’s AMERICAN WOMAN opposite Alicia Silverstone, Mena Suvari, and Cheyenne Jackson, USA Network’s MONK with Tony Shaloub, Nickelodeon’s HENRY DANGER where his character was brought back on the spinoff DANGER FORCE, Disney Channel’s SHAKE IT UP, and VERONICA MARS.
Additionally, he was a series regular on ONE ON ONE, which was his first major television job, and on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network in TYLER PERRY’S LOVE THY NEIGHBOR (which ran for 5 seasons).
Next up he can be seen guest starring this fall on the new hit ABC series HIGH POTENTIAL.
Chase is also an oil painter. He is a proud husband and father.
Classes: If you withdraw from a class up to two weeks before the start date, you will receive a credit for the full registration amount, minus a $20 processing fee. This credit can be applied to a future Uptown Studio class or camp. No credits or refunds will be issued after this period. Credits are valid only for Uptown Studio classes and camps and cannot be used for performance tickets at Uptown.
Summer Camps: If you withdraw before May 15, you will receive a credit for the full registration amount, minus a $50 processing fee, to be applied to a future Uptown Studio class or camp. After May 15, no credits or refunds will be issued. Credits are valid only for Uptown Studio classes and camps and cannot be used for performance tickets at Uptown.
Returned Checks: A $45 fee will apply to any returned checks.
Please note: Uptown Studio does not issue refunds. Credits towards future classes or camps are the only form of compensation offered.
