When their children’s futures are threatened, a group of fathers turns love into action.
PFLAG West Chester/Chester County and the LGBT Equality Alliance present The Dads, a powerful documentary about fathers standing up for their trans and nonbinary children.
Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning 2023 Netflix short documentary of the same name, The Dads follows a group of fathers confronting an impossible choice amid a rapidly shifting political landscape: stay and fight or leave the country to protect their families.
Filmed over the course of a year, the documentary takes viewers from quiet retreats in rural Maine and Minnesota to protests, family milestones, a pivotal U.S. Supreme Court decision and the loss of access to gender-affirming care. Told with striking intimacy, The Dads captures a moment of national reckoning while celebrating fatherhood as a profound act of love, courage and resistance.
Directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Luchina Fisher and executive produced by Dwyane Wade.
