No Country for Mothers: Film and Interactive Discussion

See the film. Join the conversation. Help change the story for mothers and families.

What if we supported mothers instead of judging them?

Every day, mothers are told they’re doing it wrong. Work too much. Stay home. Breastfeed. Don’t breastfeed. Every choice seems to invite judgment.

But what if those divisions are distracting us from the real issue: the lack of support for caregivers and families?

Did You Know?

The United States is 1 of 9 countries in the world without maternity leave.

It’s a powerful reminder that many of the challenges families face aren’t personal failures. They’re the result of systems that don’t support caregiving.

Join The Fund for Women and Girls for an evening featuring curated excerpts from No Country for Mothers, a new documentary from Moms First. Through powerful stories and compelling research, the film explores why caregiving in America is so challenging.

Along with excerpts from the film, you’ll take part in a guided, interactive community conversation featuring representatives from local organizations that support mothers and families every day. Together, we’ll reflect on the issues raised in the film, share perspectives and experiences, and explore practical ways individuals, employers, nonprofits, and policymakers can help build a community where caregivers and families can thrive.

This is more than a film screening. It’s an opportunity to listen, learn, connect, and discover how each of us can help create a culture that truly values caregivers and families.

This event is free and open to everyone, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Please reserve your seats at www.thefundcc.org/events so we can plan accordingly.
