Listening in! Presents Night Music: Italians in London

From Handel’s day through the Regency, London audiences embraced Italian music. Italian musicians came to the city to meet the demand, bringing opera arias, pleasure-garden songs, and music lessons for the fashionable guitar.

Featuring soprano, flute, violin, viola da gamba, and guitar, this program explores music by Tommaso Giordani and his fellow Italians, whose melodies became part of London’s musical life. Enjoy ornamented arias, intimate chamber songs, and virtuoso solos written for the theater, concert hall, and drawing room.

This Listening In! performance is pay what you will.
