Acting for the Camera / Improvisation

August 18-22

One-half of the day, performers work with a professional actor/director as they learn how to navigate the world of TV and Film. All students will have the opportunity to rehearse and shoot multiple TV commercials as well as film scenes. During each morning of shooting, performers watch their work, discuss improvements made, and discover adjustments that will improve their performances. The biggest discovery performers make is realizing how important it is to bring their unique personality to the camera.

The other half of the day, your performer will discover the joys of Improvisation by utilizing their own innate sense of play, curiosity and authenticity. Through coaching, exercises, creative games, and short-form scenes, students will learn how to be more spontaneous, trusting, and cooperative. These skills will not only help your performer as an actor but also at school in learning how to connect with people socially.
