Auditions are now open for Season Five of The Star Vocal Competition—your chance to step into the spotlight and become our next STAR!
Danny Murphy Productions is proud to announce that Season Five of The Star Vocal Competition kicks off this fall with our 18+ Contestants at Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester PA! We just had an incredibly successful youth season in June and we cannot wait to see and hear what our adult contestants will be bringing to the stage!
Don’t miss your chance to be our next STAR! Previous winners of The Star have gone on to huge successes. Our Season Three Winner, Haily Watson, took home First Place at The Apollo Theater Our Season Four Winner, Penny Samar, was a Top 24 Contestant on the most recent season of American Idol. Season One and Four Youth Runner Up, Nella Hilden, gained success on the National Tour of Hits! The Musical. Season Four Youth Winner, Abbie Parker, recently became the youngest ever actress to Win Best Actress at The Barrymore Awards. There are so many more incredible accomplishments of our alumni and we want to add you to that list!
With national news media coverage through ABC and IHeartMedia, The Star Vocal Competition has become the area’s HOTTEST and MOST TALKED ABOUT MUSICAL EVENT!
First place will walk away with $1000, performance opportunities, and so much more. Second place will walk away with $500, performance opportunities, and so much more. And our Third place will walk away with $250, performance opportunities and so much more! Our competition will be judged by local celebrities, social media personalities, news anchors, vocal coaches, agents, and many more music industry pros. Our Adult Competition will be Sundays October 26, November 2, 9, and 16. (We will allow up to 1 missed performance in the first three weeks as long as contestant communicates before auditions. A video submission will be viewed by the judges to be scored that week. Contestants must be available for finale night.) At least 20 contestants will be chosen to compete in the competition. Eliminations will occur during the third week of performance.
THIS YEAR, OUR AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 14 FROM 12-8PM
Video submissions will also be accepted but priority will be given to those who audition in person. Video auditions should be emailed to dannymurphyproductions@gmail.com NO LATER THAN 12PM on Sunday September 14.
For auditions, we ask that you prepare 60 Seconds of 2 songs that show off your strongest vocal abilities. We ask that the songs be in two different genres! You may NOT sing acapella. You must either sing to an instrumental track/accompaniment or accompany yourself on an instrument. Our judges are looking for Vocal Ability, Marketability, Stage Presence, and STAR QUALITY! Contestants will be notified on or before Sunday October 5 if they have been selected to advance into the live competition.
We may ask for further videos as we get closer to the selection process!
