Rachel Harris: One Woman Over The Line

Rachel Harris
A powerful multimedia dance performance telling the true story of a woman’s journey to freedom in Chester County.

West Chester Dance Works proudly presents Rachel Harris: One Woman Over the Line, a moving multimedia dance production that brings history to life through movement, music, narration, and projected imagery. Inspired by true accounts from Chester County’s Underground Railroad, this original work follows Rachel Harris, a runaway enslaved woman, as she searches for freedom and dignity. Blending artistry and truth-telling, the production invites audiences to reflect on courage, resilience, and community during one of America’s darkest eras.

Each performance will be followed by a special Q&A with members of the Kennett Underground Railroad Center and the cast.

West Chester Dance Works (WCDW) is a nonprofit arts organization operating to provide informed dance instruction, thoughtful community outreach programming and inspirational performances to audiences of all ages. Its mission is to uplift, nurture and transform dancers and community through an accessible, inclusive dance experience.
