Status: Part-Time, Hourly (Flexible schedule, 15–20 hours/week)
Location: Hybrid – On-site in West Chester, PA with some remote flexibility
Compensation: $25–$38/hour, commensurate with experience (see tiers below)
Position Summary:
Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center is seeking a strategic and organized Part-Time Development Manager to support and enhance our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role will be instrumental in cultivating donor relationships, managing membership initiatives, assisting with grant writing, and executing development events and campaigns.
This is an ideal position for a motivated self-starter with a passion for the arts and community building. It has a lot of growth potential, and room to make an impact with energized results since this is a new position for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Donor Development
● Identify and research prospective donors (individuals, foundations, and businesses)
● Draft donor correspondence, acknowledgment letters, and appeal materials
● Maintain and update donor database with contact history and engagement activity
● Assist with donor stewardship and relationship management efforts
Membership Program
● Support and grow the “Friends of Uptown” membership program
● Create and implement strategies to boost new memberships and renewals
● Plan and coordinate membership engagement events and communications
● Monitor membership data and provide performance insights
Grants & Campaigns
● Assist with identifying grant opportunities and preparing application materials
● Support annual and seasonal fundraising campaigns, including GivingTuesday and year-end appeals
● Track campaign metrics and prepare summary reports for internal use
Events & Community Engagement
● Help plan and execute donor and member events
● Represent Uptown at performances and community events when needed
● Assist with event follow-up, including donor thank-yous and data updates
Qualifications:
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Experience with donor engagement, membership programs, or grant writing
● Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
● Nonprofit experience preferred
