FAQs

What is the best way to start shopping for my theatre season?

Our ticket packages are organized by day of the week and week of the run. Are you a Wednesday matinee kind of person? A Saturday night devotee? Do you like to see shows early in the run or later?  On the Theatre Society Packages page, you’ll see the packages listed in order by day of the week, and week of the run. We include price ranges, so you can shop by price if you’d like.  Scroll through the choices and plan your very own theatre season, or call us when you want to chat – we’re here to help! The Box Office can be reached at 610.356.2787. P.S. You can’t make a mistake – if your plans change, exchanges are free, or you only pay the difference to move to a higher priced seat. 

How do I select my seats online?

Our ticketing system is set up to seat you on a first come, first seated basis, and in the same seats for each play. It will automatically place you in the best seats available at the price tier you selected. If you’d prefer to chat with us about your preferences, give us a call! We’re here to answer your questions about our beautiful theatre, accessibility, sight lines – everything! The Box Office is open Mon – Fri,  Noon – 5PM,  call 610.356.2787, email at boxoffice@UptownWestChester.org, or stop by 226 N. High St., West Chester, PA 19380. If you are shopping after 5PM, it’s best to email or leave us a phone message, and we will call you back during Box Office hours.  

Can I change my seats if I want to sit somewhere else?

Yes! If you are ordering online, the ticketing system will select the best seats available, and once your order is in your Shopping Cart, you’ll see your row and seat numbers that correspond with the seating chart on this page. Prefer an aisle? Want to be closer to an exit? Please complete your order first, then call or email us, and we will happily reseat you. We ask that if you want an immediate seat change you make your request within 24 hours since our system is live and we return calls in the order in which they are received. 

I’m not sure of my schedule this far in advance. Can I exchange later if my plans change? 

Yes! A benefit of being a Theatre Society Subscriber is free exchanges. Having a subscription guarantees you seats now but if your plans change later, just call us, and we’ll exchange your tickets into another performance of that show if they are available. You’ll only pay the difference if you exchange into a higher priced performance, e.g. a Wednesday matinee into a Saturday evening.

Can I add other shows or events to my Theatre Society Subscription Shopping Cart?

Great question! Yes! While you are shopping, once you have added your subscription to your cart, you may add any music, dance, comedy performances or film showings to your cart by clicking on the Continue Shopping button. Ticket fees will only apply to the shows that are not part of the theatre season. 

In the future, as a Theatre Society Subscriber  you will now start to be invited to our private presale each time we add new music, dance, comedy or films to our performing arts calendar. So, your subscriber benefits begin now – before your first show!

What about those fees? I don’t like paying them!

We hear you! We have waived the ticket fees on every Theatre Society Subscription, and if you purchase single tickets to theatre shows (gifts?) we will waive the fees there as well. Ticket fees help us pay for our ticketing system software, so a donation in lieu of fees is always deeply appreciated.
