For decades, federal courts have struggled over whether Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination in employment based on an individual’s “race, color, religion, sex, or national origin,” encompasses discrimination based on sexual orientation. This Supreme Court heard argument on the issue in October in cases involving gay and transgender employees. This program will be a live enactment of that argument.
