Uptown! Elects New Board Members

Changes in Board of Directors at Uptown!

The Uptown! Entertainment Alliance Board of Directors elected new members at their March meeting. Leadership, passion, dedication, and commitment from many community members and organizations drives Uptown!s success in fundraising, programming, marketing and administration. Their Board continues to represent the experience and expertise needed to continue to fulfill their mission as a “home for live performance, film, education and the life of our community”. Introducing Uptown! Knauer Center for the Performing Arts’ newest Board Members:

He has an undergraduate degree from City College of New York and an MBA from St. John’s University. His practice areas encompass business, real estate and land development. Molly Morrison has been on the frontlines of protecting and conserving the open spaces, natural areas, and farmland of eastern PA and southern NJ for more than 25 years. As President and CEO of Natural Lands, Molly has been instrumental in some of the most important conservation successes in the region’s history.
Prior to joining Natural Lands in 2000, Molly worked for the Chester County Board of Commissioners where she was responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the County’s nationally recognized open space (which has resulted in more than 54,000 acres of permanently protected land in Chester County), as well as for policy development and program implementation for planning, parks, water resources, community development, housing, and environmental protection. She serves on the board of the Philadelphia Zoo and is a member of the Chester County Planning Commission.

Nicole Scimone is a West Chester native and resident. She earned her BS in Accounting, with a Minor in Theater, from West Chester University and her MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, a Senior Program Manager with CTDI in their STB division, she previously lead transition teams in two international offices for QVC to expand market presence in Europe and Asia.
A lifelong devote of theater, Nicole eagerly volunteered her skills with Uptown! during its transition year to a fully operational theater. As Transition Committee Chair and, later, Launch Director, she brought her considerable project management skills and approachable style to a complex transition. Nicole’s commitment to Uptown!’s success has not wavered, and her passion and enthusiasm are met by a well-honed finance and business acumen with strengths that include financial planning, program design and launch, and multi-modality marketing.
