In Case You Missed It

We’ve broken ground at the Armory! It’s official we are making physical progress for our new theater at the Armory. Construction, managed by Bancroft Construction Company, is expected to take about nine months before culminating in our first celebration as part of a New Year’s Eve Gala.

Last Wednesday’s event played host to members of the community, neighbors, business leaders, and politicians. We took the time to celebrate and acknowledge that the last five years have been full of hard work and could not have been done without the large group of individuals who have been supporting Uptown! all along.  This theater has been and will continue to be a true community effort.

One of our many distinguished guests, Mayor Carolyn Comitta, commented “this is going to be a reality that’s going to be fantastic for our children, for our families and for all of our community members right here in the borough, all across Chester County and the region.” And that “West Chester is a beacon for the arts and culture and for people to come together, celebrate life and all that’s beautiful about it.”

While all progress is good progress, we are still looking to raise funds.  Please consider donating to our cause by following this link: https://igg.me/at/z-8RjvtDXuQ

In the meantime, Uptown! will continue host our monthly events and will be busy planning a packed year of programming in 2017.  Don’t miss a second of our upcoming progress by signing up for our newsletter: http://bit.ly/UptownMailingList
